How long have you been together?
We have been dating for 4 years as of April 27th!
Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
On May 14, 2016, James proposed to me! He totally shocked me! I had NO IDEA it was happening. He told we were going to a college fundraiser for his friend Meredith’s alma mater in Naperville, IL. While we were walking over a bridge in beautiful downtown Naperville, I was looking away from James and babbling on about how high the river looked because of the heavy rains we had just experienced.
We have so much fun together all the time. Joy is what we both bring to each other’s lives every day!
James’ birthday is on May 21st, and I had been repeatedly asked him what he wanted for his birthday.Suddenly, he pulled my left arm and said, “I know what you can get me for my birthday.” I turned to look at him and he reached into his jacket pocket, got down on one knee and proposed! He said my mouth was hanging open so wide that he could have thrown quarters into it! I was flabbergasted! What he said was amazing!
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
We had a tasting at the caterer, Angeli’s in Naperville. They serve Italian food. It. Was. Amazing! Their food is to die for! While we thought we had the menu already chosen, after we experienced the tasting, we totally changed most of our choices. We also love our wedding coordinator too, Kaili Fatta is terrific!
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
We laugh and remember that it’s about how much we love each other and the fact that we will be getting married that counts.
What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?
We love that the guests will be able to book the hotel now if they would like and that they have some idea about the facts about the venue and times of the nuptials. I also cannot wait for guests to post photos on the website!
What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?
Put as many details as possible into the wedding details box. I also think that uploading photos from your engagement session is important.
At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?
We could not agree more. We are both excited about our big day on November 11th, but it is our future that we are thrilled about the most. We have so much fun together all the time. Joy is what we both bring to each other’s lives every day!
