May of 2018: Michelle’s birthday month. She was looking forward to spending it with her boyfriend but little did she know, he wouldn’t stay just her boyfriend for long. On May 20th, 2018, just a few days before her 25th birthday, Pouria told her they were going on a sailing adventure in the marina. When they got to the boat, there were 25 roses set up in the most beautiful arrangement, a picnic packed, and a morning of adventure awaiting. As the trip got going, Pouria mentioned they should head to the bow of the boat to take in the scenery. When they got to the bow, he asked her to close her eyes, he wanted to give her something. When she opened her eyes, he was down on one wobbly knee and she immediately started bawling of happiness. They were engaged!
Now, if that wasn’t enough excitement for one morning, that same evening Pouria had planned an elaborate surprise engagement party for Michelle. Michelle was convinced for months that they had a Bar Mitzvah to go to that night. She didn’t think much of it even after getting engaged that morning and being directed by close family to wear white for a themed Bar Mitzvah. When they opened the doors to Shah Abbas, Michelle’s attention was caught by a framed photo of that morning’s proposal and then 80+ family and friends screaming, “Surprise!” She didn’t even understand how this was all possible as she continued to bawl her eyes out while being congratulated by all those close to her. It was an unbelievable night!
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
Being able to visit the venue in Puerto Vallarta. It’s exciting executing a destination wedding, something no one has done among our family or friends.
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
We have the best wedding coordinator taking on the heat!
