Joy Proposal Story: Monica & Silas

How did the two of you meet?

We met at a summer party.

How long have you been together?

A very long time, we are high school sweethearts!

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

The entire evening was full of a few surprises, little did I know. Silas arranged for us to take a private helicopter tour of the city’s skyline at the Chicago Helicopter Experience. Our tour was scheduled right as the sun was going down so the view was so romantic, and contributed to an evening full of perfectly picturesque photo moments. After our tour, Silas exited the aircraft with the help of an attendant. Once it came my turn to exit, I was led by the attendant safely around the aircraft toward the exit, but to add to an even bigger surprise, turned around noticing Silas on one knee with a ring asking me to be his wife and lifelong partner! On September 17, 2017 we will be sealing the deal and making it official!!

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?

Checking items off my wedding planning checklist!

How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?

I enjoy exercise and fitness so I usually will attend some Yoga, HIIT, or Pilates classes in my area or or just perform these sessions from home. Barre3 has become an ultimate favorite of mine in terms of connecting with my mind, body, and spirit. I also do some mindfulness exercises before going to bed which have been very helpful. Also just getting out to enjoy nature and fresh air; very simple things really add more to our bodies more than we’ll ever know!

What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?

Very simple and easy, efficient, contemporary, savvy, and fun.

What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?

That is some great inspiration and is actually yet another reason why I chose Joy to host our wedding website.
