Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
Our engagement story is magical! We went to Germany this past December for Christmas. On the way to Hamburg, we stopped in Lubeck, Germany, which is Jared’s last name. Jared and I were taking photos at the city gate entrance when he pulled away randomly. I turned to ask what the heck he was doing to find him down on one knee! I stood there balling not able to talk. All that came out of my mouth was, “Noooooooo” because in my head I was thinking, “There is no way this happening right now!” He stood there laughing a bit, and asked me, “So is that a yes?”. At that moment when Jared proposed, the entire world around us disappeared. I will never forget that moment. Jared asked me to be a Lubeck in Lubeck Germany!
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
I think the most fun thing thus far, combined, has been taking our engagement photos out at Saguaro Lake. I personally loved picking out my wedding dress at Bella Lilly and I also enjoyed seeing all the bridesmaid’s dresses come together!
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
Hmm… I’m not sure if I am doing a good job of staying sane! While working full time, finishing my Masters, and planning a wedding, I feel the only thing that has kept me somewhat sane is remembering I don’t have to tackle everything at once. I let the little things go and plan the must do’s out within the few months ahead.
What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?
I love the personalized RSVP notes!
What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?
I would suggest setting an account up prior to sending the save the dates out! Joy has made my life so much easier for guests traveling from out of town to be able to see every detail they need on our website. It’s also a fun spot to highlight your favorite engagement photos.

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?
We feel God brought our paths together and it was just meant to be, it has brought true joy into our hearts. Our personalities fit together and our hobbies align, we not only love each other but we really enjoy spending time and doing activities together. Our life goals align and everything fell into place for us to end up together. The only explanation of how our events unfolded, was God’s hand in it all. God has given us the gift of love and pure joy for eternity!
