How did the two of you meet?
In 2013, It was the time of the year when the Indian student association of UTEP has their yearly cultural event. As some of our friends know, I like to dance and have performed before. They were looking for people to perform this year, and I was taking too long to give them a response to start practicing. So, Ranjan messaged me directly and asked me to join him to perform. I said yes and we started to put some steps together… and the rest is history!
How long have you been together?
3 years and 3 months!
Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
It had been almost a year from when we started dating. He had left to Indianapolis, IN to join his job, so we were long distance. One summer day he asked me over video call if I would marry him! I of course said yes!
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
I have enjoyed finding things that I have envisioned and being able to select what I want for our wedding.
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
I take breaks and just remind myself of what is most important for us and that if things don’t go as planned, all we want is to be united and our families to be there with us. The rest is just extra!
What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?
Just check it out! There’s everything to love about it.
At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?
I believe that we get what we make of it. We invest in our relationship, the wedding is just for others to participate with us, but we will always have each other!! That is what is most special and brings us joy!
