Joy Proposal Story: Princess & Rick

Joy Proposal Story: Princess & Rick

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

My fiance, Rick, had to figure out how to get me to the Botanical Gardens. He knew that he wanted to propose there, under our gazebo. When we got there… he couldn’t find the gazebo. There are a lot of gazebos in the garden and things look different there in the day, compared to at night when we usually go. The plan almost got derailed when it started getting pretty cold, but he found the gazebo just in time. His plan was to propose where they typically have a book where you write your wishes during the holidays. A few years ago, I wrote in the wish book that I wished for tenure, and I got tenure. As he got ready to propose, I told him last time I wrote that I wished that we would get engaged and married… he knelt, he proposed, and I said, Yes!”

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?

I attended a bridal expo with my mom, aunt, and grandma. It was very special to be a part of three generations of women. The joy on my grandma’s face as she watched the fashion show at the Expo was palatable.

I play candy crush.  Seriously, I talk with family and friends and my wedding planner. People have been very understanding and supportive!
