Joy Proposal Story: Rebecca & Zach

by Cali Pitchel

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

I was in my finals week at CSUN. I always told Zach, “I would love to be engaged the summer I graduate from college.” The weekend before finals started Zach asked if I wanted to do a “fun day” in Laguna Beach, my hometown, to blow off steam before finals began. So we go to Laguna, eat at a quaint restaurant, and decided to go to Thousand Steps Beach. Once we reached the bottom of the steps, he got on one knee and proposed. Little did I know, his best friend was there taking photos the entire time. After he proposed, we did a “proposal photo shoot” to capture the moment. He reminded me that the first date we went on was at Thousand Steps Beach and we witnessed a couple getting engaged that day and I mentioned that that would be such a cute way of getting engaged.

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?

Hiring a wedding planner and not stressing over anything!

How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?

Our wedding planner. It’s worth the extra money. I love just showing up to appointments and not worrying about the small details.

What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?

I love the modern style. I tried other wedding websites and none came close to the uniqueness that Joy has.

What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?

It’s a great way to engage your friends and family. I absolutely love the small touches of design that other sites don’t offer. I also love the guest list feature. It’s so amazing!

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?

To me a wedding is just one day. Joy should be found in the small, everyday acts your significant other does to improve your happiness on a day-to-day basis.
