How did the two of you meet?
We met during a 3 month volunteer opportunity in Geneva, Switzerland.
Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
It’s a really long story, but key plot points: Russell traveled to Europe in 2015 to meet Dóri. Then we met in Italy, in a small lakeside village named Castiglione del Lago. There, we decided to go all in and start a relationship, even though Russell was living in the United States and Dóri was in Hungary. One year later, Russell planned a surprise trip back to Castiglione del Lago with Dóri, where he proposed down by the lake, in the exact spot they began their relationship!
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
Anticipating all the friends and family that will be able to celebrate with us, from both the US and Hungary.
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
Simultaneously looking for a job helped take the pressure off the planning…but then, put the stress on finding employment!
What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?
It’s easy to use and helped us maintain contact with the guests in both countries.
What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?

Our souls are bound together for life, the ring is just a symbol of that. The real commitment comes day-in and day-out working towards building a life together. We both find joy in giving, so we give to each other, our whole beings.
