Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
I attempted to propose two times. The first attempt was a scuba dive underwater. The proposal would be when we dove under the beautiful corals of Tofo Beach, Inhambane Mozambique. I organized a team of “fellow divers” who acted the part to create the surprise. We have never gone diving before, so during the day we had pool training and later in the afternoon, we went into the ocean. Everyone knew the plan. The waves were high, the wind was blowing strong and then we dove in. I went under for a minute and couldn’t do it. The scuba suit, oxygen gas, strapping, and the ocean waves got the best of me. All of this while my fiance-to-be was already under the ocean wondering where I was! The other divers came up 20 minutes later, looking disappointed and I suspected Ruvimbo knew why. Attempt number two was underway (I anticipated this diving mess) and I took her to Flamingo Bay with a floral set up and bubbly. I then went on one knee asking for her hand. She cried, overwhelmed from the entire day of the meeting face to face with whale sharks, scuba diving, and the Mozambican heat, but she said “Yes!”
