Joy Proposal Story: Scott & Molly

by Kelsey Vickers

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

We were camping in Moab while on a group hike to Corona Arch. Scott had it planned out with our friends. We scaled the side of the arch to get on top of the arch (no easy feat!). Our friends watched us hike out to the middle of the arch, he got down on one knee and proposed, several hundred feet above the ground! Stunned and nervous I’d drop the ring off the arch, I said, “Yes!” My friends had traveled from all over to be there, even surprising me in the middle of the desert from Seattle. Scott rented a large house for us to stay in that night to celebrate and had our friend Jeff (the chef) prepare a wonderful gourmet dinner for us. Moab was the first place he told me he loved me and it has always been our special place! I had no idea, we had never discussed a proposal before. It was perfect, and still makes me giddy thinking about it!

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?

Choosing the venue! We are so excited to get married on top of a mountain!

How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?

We try to keep each other calm, and not overthink things.

What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?

The ability to add and remove sections as necessary. It keeps it manageable and allows us to always add more later!

What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?

Don’t stress out about all of the sections. Fill in the ones you want, remove the ones you don’t. They are only suggestions!

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?

That I can continue to use this site as a way to highlight our relationship.
