How did the two of you meet?
Eric and Stephanie met online, through an app called Coffee meet Bagel. Eric was Stephanie’s first and only match! They first met at a bar in Venice, CA sharing stories of their times at Indiana University. Little did they know, they had so much in common! They found out they lived next to each other for two years and had many mutual friends. They say timing is everything, perhaps college wasn’t the right time. Fate would have it that these two would meet in Los Angeles over their love for Indiana University.
Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
Eric proposed on the first night of their family vacation in Turks and Caicos. The sun was setting and the two of them were alone on the dock, overlooking the blue water crashing with the purple and pink sky. At this time, Eric pulled Steph aside to tell her how much he loved her. This was not at all unusual, she is lucky enough to have found someone who tells her these things often (and she the same to him). She could see the future he imagined for the two of them in his eyes. After multiple failed attempts at selfies (Eric was shaking because he was so nervous), he turned her around to face the wide open oasis. Both of them admiring the paradise they were starring at, Eric turned to Steph and told her how excited he was to one day bring their family to a place like this. He gave her a soft, long kiss, bent down on one knee, and asked Steph to be his forever!
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
We view the planning piece of it as part of our actual wedding. Anything that gets too stressful, we take a step back and walk away from it. We both have a very similar vision when it comes to our wedding, so that’s not something we have to worry about! By walking away or taking a break from one task, we allow ourselves to relax and spend time together and then come back to it. Once we nail something down, we don’t second guess it and we move on to the next task!

What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?
I would say do it together! It’s more fun getting both inputs and views on how the proposal happened and what pictures to use!
