The summer before their freshman year of college, Anastacia and Parker “met” on a university dorm Facebook page. They found out they would be neighbors and exchanged a few casual messages. A few months later, they met in-person during their first week of school.
They became close friends right away and Parker subsequently spent the next three years in the friend zone. During their senior year of college, Parker finally convinced Anastacia to give it a shot as a couple. They’ve been together ever since!
Give us the details! When? Where? How?
I thought we were meeting my family at a favorite restaurant at our alma mater. When we arrived on campus, Parker took a detour and parked far from the restaurant. I was hungry and confused, but followed along as he walked me by the dorm where we met. He was very nostalgic and kept reminiscing about our memories together on campus.
Our wedding is only the beginning of a lifetime of adventures. There will be many more joyful celebrations to follow – and we can’t wait!
Suddenly Parker walked me to a grassy area near the dorm and got down on one knee! I was so surprised – it took him pointing out the photographer for me to comprehend what was happening! Afterward, we met our families for dinner at a favorite Minneapolis restaurant (where we had our first date). It was the perfect proposal!

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
We’ve loved thinking about how all of the details will come together. Every time we make a decision, we are one step closer to the best party of our lives!
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
We try to maintain a balance so that we’re not only thinking about wedding planning. We don’t let it get in the way of the things we normally like to do—it helps keep things in perspective!
