Joy Proposal Story: Cate & Dylan

by Cali Pitchel

How did the two of you meet?

We first met at one of Dylan’s shows. I had gone with a few friends to see the headlining band, and Dylan’s band happened to be opening for them. While they were playing I told my friends I thought he was super cute! After their set my very persistent friends convinced me to go talk to him. We talked for a while and immediately hit it off! We went on our first date a few nights later…and the rest is history!

We can’t wait to be able to look back and relive the joy of our wedding day for the rest of our lives together!

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

We knew we wanted to take holiday photos in 2016. I scheduled it with our photographer friend (shoutout to Takes by Taylie for the best surprise ever!), and we headed to Loveland on November 13th. We did the standard photoshoot with the beautiful fall backdrop at first. After a bit, Taylie was distracting Cate by “fixing her hair” from behind while I grabbed the ring from Taylie’s back pocket and got down on one knee. Posed with Cate’s back turned to me, Taylie was ready to snap a photo at the very moment that Cate turned to see me for the first time, ring in hand. I gave my anxiously rehearsed speech, and she said yes!
