Joy Proposal Story: Cedrick & Alovia

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

The proposal actually took place at Cedrick’s mother’s house on December 25th, 2017. I was on my phone, doing a live feed on Instagram, and not realizing that at one point I was in the house by myself. Reason being, Cedrick had gone to his next door neighbor’s house to inform them of his plan to propose. A little time had passed and I could hear some voices that were coming up the stairs. Still not paying attention, I didn’t notice that everyone who was asked to attend and witness this proposal! At one point it got really quiet in the room and Cedrick decided to use that opportunity to pop the question. It was a very heartfelt proposal because it was done spur of the moment, and he went with what his heart instructed him to.

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?

Taking our engagement photos, planning the engagement party, and working on completing our website! By using Joy as a guide, it keeps us in check with what needs to be done and what has already been accomplished. Slowing but surely, everything is starting to come together by using our website!

How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?

One of the most powerful things we use to keep the both of us sane during this time is to pray about everything. Through prayer, we are able to conquer any difficulties that may arise while planning this wedding.

What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?

Two of my favorite things about Joy is the labels for each of our guests, and the ability to post our engagement photos to show the magic between the both of us! The labels really help state their involvement with the wedding.

What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?

My advice I would share with the other couples is for them to use Joy to the fullest extent. You will realize how fun and detailed it is.

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?

A wedding only lasts a day but joy lasts forever. Marrying my best friend, my partner, my soon to be husband, brings joy to my heart. He is a very passionate and loving person who looks to protect and provide for his family. That alone brings joy to my heart!
