Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
The best day of my life. My best friends texted me and asked if I would be interested in a scavenger hunt. Denny and I were on the same team, he was designated driver since some of the clues involved drinking. Little did I know, I was the only one playing the scavenger hunt game! Denny had set up the most amazing proposal ever, by including all of my friends and family. Each spot we went to was significant to us. Where we went on our first date, where we had our first kiss, one of our favorite restaurants, and ending up where my parents got married. At Riddly Creek State Park, only a few steps away from where my parents said, “I Do”, Denny asked me to be his wife. After crying a lot, I finally was able to say, “Yes!” Denny had all of our friends and family come out and congratulate us with an engagement party right after. It was beyond amazing!
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
Everything! It’s a very DIY wedding since we blew the majority of our budget on the venue. I love the fact I can design and create my own invites, save the dates, programs, decor, etc. Everything is going to be very personalized and one of a kind to our wedding!
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
No stress here! I have been planning since April of 2016 and the wedding is May of 2018! A long engagement keeps stress away.
What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?
The travel section! I’m able to give all of our details in one place. I’m having a mini destination, so travel information is crucial!
What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?
To explore everything Joy has to offer. I wasn’t aware of everything it was capable before I signed up! I was tired of seeing other popular sites and wanted something new. This was it!
