How did the two of you meet?
We are from different countries (Philippines & Indonesia) but we ended up in the same grad school program in San Francisco!

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
It was May of 2016 and we were on a trip to San Diego. One day, Dustin told me to get dressed for a picnic but for some reason he took me to the Marina. Half an hour into our private boat ride, Dustin took out the ring from his pocket. Immediately, my confusion turned into panic because I was in the middle of stuffing my face with food. He didn’t care. He went on and proposed to me on a speedboat during the most perfect, sunny afternoon while cruising the San Diego Bay. I had my mouth full of cheese and crackers so I could only nod in tears. No witnesses, except for our Captain. Thank God I yes because Dustin may have thrown me overboard. After all, it was Friday the 13th!

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
The pre-wedding photoshoot which has been (literally and figuratively) all over the place!
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
By avoiding the topic every few days.

What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?
The interface because it’s intuitive and makes things easy to set up! If only everything else were this much of a…joy. 🙂
What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?
Take the time to write something meaningful about each member of the Wedding Party.
