Joy Proposal Story: Cody & Larissa

by Cali Pitchel

How did the two of you meet?

We met through a mutual friend at Queens University.

How long have you been together?

We dated briefly in 2007, and then reconnected 2014!

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

We spontaneously decided to take a fun trip down to Charleston, South Carolina. After some sun and relaxation, on Friday, July 29 we went to explore the Kiawah Ocean front golf course. Riding along, we stopped on the 16th hole at sunset and that is where I turned around to find Cody on one knee asking me to spend the rest of our lives together!

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?

We took a trip down to Savannah for a little pre-wedding weekend. We had the best time going over wedding details, exploring, and just soaking up all Savannah excitement we have to look forward to in September.

How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?

We definitely lean on each other to help make us laugh along the way and just to remind ourselves at the end of the day we will be sharing in the best day of our lives. A wedding is so much more than planning, it’s about becoming man and wife and celebrating such a special day.

What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?

I love how beautiful and easy it is to help share our story and wedding details.

What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?

Have fun with it! It helps gives an outline of wedding details, and along the way you get to reminisce on your love story.

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?

A wedding is the greatest time a couple gets to have to gather their closest family and friends to share in the celebration of their love. A wedding may be one day, but it is the most beautiful beginning of a partnership and a life long friendship.
