Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
Ethan and I had been talking about marriage for some time. We found a beautiful house in Vermont that hosts weddings that we were really interested in! We were visiting Montpelier where Ethan went to culinary school when he surprised me with a tour of the house on a weekend trip. We viewed the property and trudged through the snow in the backyard where Ethan pulled out a ring box. Ethan always has the sweetest things to say to me but he was so nervous he just blurted out, “Will you be my wife?” I had to laugh, but of course, I said, “Yes!” He told me later the speech he had planned. In addition, he planned for my sister who is a photographer to capture the moment. She and her husband came running out from behind a nearby tree to celebrate and capture the moment. It was the perfect day because not only did we get engaged but my favorite football team, the Patriots, played in the most heart-wrenching Super Bowl game and won that night! It was an unforgettable day.

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
I’ve really enjoyed planning the decor.
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
We gave ourselves a long engagement (one year and seven months) which has definitely taken some of the pressure off.

It is extremely easy to use and the website looks so professional. The customer service has also been very helpful with any questions I have!
What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?
I plan to use Joy to keep track of RSVPs instead of having guests mail them.
