Joy Proposal Story: Emily & Griffin

Joy Proposal Story: Emily & Griffin

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

Looking back I should have known… Griff (not the biggest “planner” if you ask any of his loved ones) planned a paddleboard picnic date on the lake we met on. He insisted we paddle all the way across the lake to our favorite spot…. (it was extremely windy and of course the paddle to our destination was straight into the wind). We even lost a bag of chips into the water it was so windy. Looking back thank goodness the other bag of “treats” didn’t go overboard. Griffin seemed to be paddling much faster than normal, which is extremely fast if you ask me. We quickly made it to our destination (I for one couldn’t believe I managed to paddle myself all the way there.) Here Griff very nervously unpacked the wine, cheese, sausage and …. the ring :O. He knelt down in the water and that’s when our journey began.

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?

Food and cake tastings, of course!

How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?

Sanity is overrated.

What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?

We love the user-friendly interface and unique formatting options as opposed to other wedding websites. Everyone is so helpful with any questions you have and the templates give you great ways to present information we would have never thought of on our own.

What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?

Don’t be afraid to ask for assistance when needed everyone is so friendly and helpful.

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?

Keeping things in perspective is key! All the stress that goes into planning, is meant to end in a celebration of the union of two people who are excited to spend the rest of their lives together. There are so many opportunities to lose perspective, keeping this in the forefront is how you continue the joy throughout the wedding planning process and throughout your marriage.
