Joy Proposal Story: Erica & Rob

Joy Proposal Story: Erica & Rob

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

It was the night before our third dating anniversary. We had plans with some family the next day so we decided to celebrate our anniversary early. We went to one of our favorite places on Erie Street (which is home to many delicious Italian restaurants) in Windsor. We then took a drive along the river that separates Windsor from Detroit, Michigan. When we got home, we exchanged cards (we said no gifts this year) and then got into our comfy clothes, snuggled up into bed with our pooch Piper, and started to watch the movie that we watched on our first date- The Wedding Singer. About 45 minutes into the movie I decided to play the “Kiss Me Like…” game. (A little background story: When we first started dating, I made up a game called “Kiss Me Like…”, which would be how you would kiss the other in a certain situation). I asked Rob to “kiss me like it was our first date”. He did. Then, Rob told me to close my eyes as he was going to give me a surprise kiss. I rolled my eyes at him and gave him a look like “are you serious?”. I was very hesitant because I didn’t know what to expect, but I did it. Rob then said softly, “Kiss me like I just asked you to marry me!” When I opened my eyes, there was the most beautiful ring I had ever seen! After I screamed, cried and danced around the room, I said, “Yes!”
