Michael strung white lights all throughout the trees and rosebushes at the little circle where I take my dogs for their daily walk. I returned home late from a Tori Amos concert which coincided with a full moon, and he walked me down to “look at the moon”. He then knelt down and switched on the lights, the whole circle came to life! Right then and there we made it official.
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
Finding a dressmaker who can make my too-teeny, eBay-purchased, discontinued (and hard to find) dream gown, a reality! Also, getting to choose all of the colors and accessories to set the tone of the event. I love details!
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
The wedding planning itself has KEPT me staying sane in the face of caregiving for my grandfather this past year. He passed away weeks ago and throughout the hard process, having a new life to look forward to has warded off the grief.
What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?
Unlike other wedding websites which automatically publish without my permission or knowledge, ahead of time and to my chagrin, Joy lets me keep things private until I’m ready to share them! Also, the editing tools are really user-friendly.
What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?
The design aspects are really fun to use to help personalize.
