Nick and I recently bought a mini jet boat to explore Alaska. This was our maiden voyage together. He did a test run earlier in the week and told me he found a great spot for an “Instagram-worthy” picture. We drove 45 minutes to Girdwood from Anchorage then set sail on the Placer River. We cruised through the Alaskan wilderness for an hour viewing snow-capped mountains, the Alaska train, and ice blue water. Then we turned a bend and BAM, a huge glacier emerged. It was stunning. We rode up to it and parked, then climbed for a better view. On it, we set up the selfie tripod to capture the moment. Then Nick took my hand and started to say sweet things, and I yelled, “Are you proposing?!” He got down on one need and popped out the most stunning ring. I thought I was going to faint. I was hot and cold at the same time and my hands were shaking. I screamed, “Yes!” then hugged him so hard and so long. I didn’t want to let go!
