Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
While on a family vacation in Oahu, HI, Jomar coerced Ariana away from the TV (she was just trying to finish the third Twilight movie-it had been a long time since she last watched it, okay?) by pretending he was angry and needed to take a walk outside. He brought her to a grassy area near the lagoon during sunset and kept furtively glancing over his shoulder while huffing and puffing in pretend exasperation. Finally, a ukulele player singing Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours” magically appeared, followed closely behind by Jomar’s family. Much to Ariana’s confusion, Jomar got down on one knee, completely forgot the long speech he had prepared, and asked Ariana to marry him. Ariana fell into a state of shock and, after repeatedly asking what was going on, said something along the lines of yes.
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
Food tasting! We were so stuffed afterward (literally tried, like, 20 cake combinations) that we could barely walk.
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
Recognizing that no amount of extensive planning can predict how our day will turn out. All we can do is trust that everything will work out as it’s meant to and enjoy the process!

What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?
The privacy features that allow us to reserve certain information (in our case, most information) only for guests. We realize it’s a bit difficult to crash a destination wedding, but you never know these days…
What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?
So much is customizable. Play around with it!
