Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
We had arrived bleary eyed and sleep deprived after a 12 hour night train at one of our many city stops in India. We had arranged to do a days outing at an elephant sanctuary, feeding, painting and washing “our” elephant. While Ellen was occupied painting our elephant’s trunk, Jon painted a ring on the elephant’s side. Ellen didn’t initially realize the significance of this, till Jon got down on one knee and proposed. A bottle of champagne was cooling back in the hotel room, where Jon made a more formal proposal.
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
Selecting the menu for the day!
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
We’ve each taken the reins of a different part of the wedding process, so the workload has been divided up equally. And we started the planning process early!
What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?
It’s fun to use and gives great results with minimal effort.
What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?
Make sure you’re enthusiastic about designing your site in the first place, your passion will show!
At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?
The site we’ve designed will be something we can look back on after the wedding, especially when guests add their photos of the day.
