Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
We got engaged on February 24, 2018, at White Pine Beach in Belcarra Regional Park, Port Moody in the snow (Glenn even got down on one knee)! It was our most special moment to date and super romantic!
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
Choosing a venue has been very fun, it’s nice to see what each place can offer to highlight you as a couple! For Katie, she asked her girls to be a part of the Bride Tribe (a nod to my Grandad who was born in British Guyana!) on International Women’s Day and it was incredible!
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
Champagne! We decided to have a longer engagement so that we could enjoy our move to Vancouver and also be able to afford to travel while planning the weekend of our dreams!
What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?
The App! Joy is such a cool, unique and user-friendly app, we can’t wait to share it with our guests!
What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?
Add as much information as you can about a guest, you never know what you might need and it’s super thoughtful to know the details of your guests!
At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?
Joy is hiking at 6am in the snow with a huge smile on Glenn’s face or a trip to IKEA to give Katie all of the ideas in the world for their apartment. Joy is making your partner happy every day by being you, and loving every second together!
