Joy Proposal Story: Lenicia & Bobby

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

We were in Costa Rica in between destinations. The van we were in stopped in the middle of the jungle at a rest stop for us to go to the bathroom and buy snacks. We had left at the crack of dawn, so I was still in PJs. (No shower or anything!) We are at this stop and there just happened to be a waterfall! So, I went over and started to take pictures. All of a sudden, I heard Bobby “ahem” behind me. I turned to see him with a huge smile, on one knee, with a beautiful ring in hand. I mean, this crazy guy proposed at my worst! I started laughing and then hugged him like I couldn’t let go. He proposed in paradise!

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?

My favorite experience has been planning our destination wedding! To plan a trip with all our loved ones is the biggest perk.

How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?

I stay safe by having a partner that only cares about marrying me. He is my rock for sure.

What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?

How simple and user-friendly it is! Even my graphic designer friend likes it!

What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?

Don’t rush. If you get overwhelmed, just step back. You can always come back to it.

Getting married is knowing you have the rest of your life cherishing one another. That’s the real joy.
