Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
Brian pulled off an amazing surprise engagement on our trip to Thailand, in November! How did he hide the ring through all of those flights, security lines, hotels, and island hopping? The trip started with us exploring temples and rooftop bars in Bangkok, chasing waterfalls and washing elephants in the jungle, and snorkeling in the crystal blue waters on Phi Phi Island. We arrived at our last resort and had three days left on our trip. The next day we relaxed by our private pool and enjoyed the spa before getting ready for happy hour on the beach. We drank out of coconuts, listened to live music, and watched the sunset on the Andaman Sea. The view was breathtaking, the was so sky colorful. Brian asked me to go for a walk and we reminisced about the last two weeks exploring Thailand. He looked at me and said, “Before we end the trip, I have to ask you one question.” He got down on one knee in the sand and asked me to marry him! I said, “Of course!”. We celebrated that night with an Italian dinner and champagne on the beach.
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
My favorite part is putting together the small details that have meaning to us. My best friend Tori is drawing the plantation house venue for us to include on the wedding stationery and my mother and mother in law collected family wedding photos for us to display our family history.
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
I stay sane by remembering the important things. Brian and I are getting married and that is all that really matters. It’s fun planning all of the details but we want to make sure our day feels organic and personal. Sometimes with all of the options and “updos” available, it’s easy to get lost in the planning. I want our wedding day to reflect who we are, where we come from, and our relationship together. I hope the little details and touches help reflect that to our guests.
