Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
He took me on a picnic for our two year dating anniversary. We went to Arabia Mountain, which is a huge, amazing granite area in a pretty isolated part of Georgia. He had secretly recruited some friends of ours to climb the mountain first, hide, and take pictures. He set up all the food and asked if we could exchange gifts. He gave me a framed drawing that he drew of us in a hot air balloon, and a card with a note in it. He made me stand up to read the note, and as I was reading it I saw him getting down on one knee. He asked me and obviously, I said, “Yes!” As I was hugging him, I saw our friends coming from behind the rocks taking pictures. I was so happy that he did it in a secluded area with not a lot of people around I was also SO happy that I had friends there to be excited with me. It was so perfect.
What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?
I loved picking our venue. We chose a vacation rental with a big yard, so our wedding will last three days instead of three hours! We got a house by a lake and it is so beautiful.
How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?
We lean on each other, do most of the planning together, and talk through anything that is stressful until we come to a good solution.
What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?
Joy is the reason I’m getting married to this person, at this time. He has brought so much joy into my life, unlike anyone else. I want that to last forever!
