Joy Proposal Story: Megan & Anthony

Joy Proposal Story: Megan & Anthony

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

Anthony planned to propose on St. Patrick’s day but two days before, I was in the emergency room having to get my appendix taken out! The next day, I left the hospital after surgery but got really sick. I was sick all night long, throwing up every 10-15 min with a severe migraine. Anthony never left my side except for a few hours when he said he had to do some “errands”. The next morning, he came down dressed like a leprechaun and said that I “had to go upstairs because he set a leprechaun trap” and wanted me to see it. I thought he was out if his mind because I felt horrible, but still went. He laid out the hallway in green tissue paper, had Irish music playing and transformed our living room into a St. Patricks day celebration. I laid on the couch. (He told me to leave my puke bucket behind and I realized later that it was because he was secretly videotaping it!) He gave me an Xbox game cover he hand-made that said, “Will you marry me?!” and my ring was hanging inside. Of course I said, “Yes!” I then went back to the hospital because I was still very sick, unable to keep anything down. The nurses and doctors there that I had been dealing with the last few days all surprised me and gave me flowers to congratulate us!

What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?

Represent you and your future spouse, don’t do anything to make someone else happy.

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?

Life is too short to not be true to yourself and surrounded by those you love. That brings true joy!
