Joy Proposal Story: Megan & Robby

Joy Proposal Story: Megan & Robby

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

It was on a cold night, the day after Thanksgiving to be exact. In our city, there is a tradition where they have a lighting of the Christmas tree in our downtown circle. I had asked Robby to take me the year before, but something came up where we were unable to go. Robby planned to have some of our closest friends come along to the tree lighting with us this year. We all drove down together and were standing around ready to watch the lights come on. Once they did, Robby was very persistent that we go get a picture near the tree. This was a little odd because Robby is always against pictures and never wants them taken. However, I thought I’d take advantage of the situation while I had it! So we headed up to the front near the tree that was lit up and he gave his phone to his friend. Just as they were about to take the picture, Robby got down on one knee and proposed! It was also a complete surprise because he is not someone who likes to have all of the attention on him, so for him to propose in front of so many people was shocking. Of course, I said, “Yes!” and now we are enjoying planning our wedding!

What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?

Joy is so personal, and also so easy to use! If I have a question, there is someone to answer it within 15 minutes. I love how it is so user-friendly and also so trendy.

What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?

Honestly, I would say go try out other websites to see how difficult they are to use, and then come to Joy! It will be so much easier for you to get around Joy than any other website out there.

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?

This is so true! Your wedding lasts one day, but a marriage is forever. You’re not only planning a wedding but you’re preparing for a marriage, to spend the rest of your life with your best friend.
