Joy Proposal Story: Michaela & Rob

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

Rob proposed on Christmas morning of 2017. We were at his friends’ house the night before for a Christmas party and everyone at the party knew what was going to happen… except me! We woke up at his house on Christmas and after opening gifts with his younger brothers, I thought it was weird Rob didn’t have any gifts for me. Later to find out that was because he had it all planned that he wouldn’t give me anything until after he proposed. Getting to tell everyone later in the day was our favorite part! Seeing and hearing their reactions is something I will never forget.

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?

Wedding dress shopping was…an adventure! And finding a photographer was a hassle. Being able to converse and talk to our friends and family about our big day is a blast. Our friends are so important to us, we love how included they are in this whole process.

How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?

Knowing when to walk away. I was getting very stressed out trying to find a photographer. I learned if I was getting frustrated, to close the computer and pick up the search either later that day after decompressing, or another day with a clear mind. That’s certainly key to staying sane through all of this!
