Joy Proposal Story: Natalie & Tyler

Joy Proposal Story: Natalie & Tyler

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

I am a huge Disney fan, my favorite is Beauty and the Beast. Actually, our first time really spending time together was for his cousins birthday, where we went to see a live Beauty and the Beast show. I knew a proposal was coming at some point, but I had no idea when or where or how. He used his birthday as a way to plan an event, and he completely blew me out of the water with his plan! He reserved a library at Saint Anthony’s that looked just like the Beauty and the Beast library. There were roses and candles everywhere, all over every shelf. There was a fireplace lit, wine, and the Beauty and the Beast soundtrack playing in the background. We walked in and he led me up to the second floor of the library, where there was a book sitting on a shelf called “The Story of the Happiest Man Alive”. We sat in front of the fire while Tyler read me the book he made, telling the story of our relationship. The last page said, “And the last thing he had to do to make him the happiest man in the world, was to ask her a very important question”. He then got down on one knee! The ring box got stuck in his pocket, which gave me just enough time to stop crying before saying,”Yes!”

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?

We’ve both loved dreaming about the honeymoon, and life after the wedding. I have dreamed of my wedding forever and it will absolutely be well planned and gorgeous just like I dreamed! But, it’s funny how the marriage becomes so much more important than the wedding once you have a countdown!

How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?

We try to have a certain project to complete every time we’re together. We try to make headway, accomplish our task, and then do something else to relax. Video games, cards with in-laws, hot tubbing or just enjoying each other’s presence.

What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?

I love having a beautiful format for our photos that my sister took! They look so gorgeous. It’s also so easy to use!

What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?

Take your time making the website! Don’t try to do it all in one sitting, make it fun, work on the “tidbits” together, enjoy remembering how you met, and what your favorite date was together!

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?

I am finally going to marry my best friend, wake up to him every morning, and come home to him every night. This is the biggest joy there could possibly be! We love and support each other and are one hundred percent committed to loving and supporting each other for the rest of our lives.
