Joy Proposal Story: Spencer & Mary

Joy Proposal Story: Spencer & Mary

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

I proposed to Mary during winter time in Leavenworth, Washington. After having dinner at Visconti’s, the local Italian favorite, I walked Mary down the street. Just before the performance pergola, there were Christmas lights all around us covering every building from front step to chimney top, all the trees covered as well. I turned to her and told her how much I loved her and before the tears rolled down my cheek, I took out the ring and got on my knee and asked her to marry me.

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?

It has been quite a learning experience! A lot of discussions back and forth, proving points, getting each other’s way, and despite Spencer becoming a Groomzilla, we have managed to successfully put together a very fine wedding!

How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?

We try to laugh a lot of things off! There is a lot of venting and discussion about specific details for the wedding but if it becomes too much, we take a break and stop planning for the day.

What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?

It can be personalized to our liking, we can edit only areas we want too, and the website covers a lot without getting too personal!

What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?

Play around on the site, test the new themes, colors, and displays. Keep your answers to questions simple at the beginning knowing you can add a bit more later on if needed!

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?

Although the wedding is only one day, it’s important to remember that the ultimate gift we give one another, is each other. Forever and Always.
