Joy Proposal Story: Tiffany & Brandon

by Kelsey Vickers

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

We went on a family date to Prospect Park in Brooklyn, NY. I was under the impression that we would simply enjoy the day watching our son Grayson run around. Before arriving at the park, Gray fell asleep but we decided to enjoy the picnic that Brandon prepared for us. He bought all of my favorites including strawberries, Prosecco, and prosciutto. While eating, Bran started choking and asked me to pass him a water bottle from the cooler. The first bottle I saw was Gray’s water bottle, so I frantically reached to hand that to Bran. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a red string dangling from the bottle. I looked down and saw the ring attached to it. I also noticed that Bran had stopped choking in the background!  I don’t remember much of what happened next except that Bran got down on one knee, I cried a lot and replied, “Duh!” Afterward, Bran took me to the restaurant where we had our first date and we walked past the spot where he asked me to be his girlfriend back in 2015.

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?

Sharing this experience with our family! We are all looking forward to this celebration and it has been nice getting everyone involved in the planning stages.

How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?

We remind ourselves that having a wedding, even though it will be nothing short of the best party of our lives, is very different from preparing for marriage. We are looking forward to the latter, so the rest is just icing on the cake! We do not sweat the details too much.

What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?

I love having a wedding website that lets us create a really personalized platform while also being extremely user-friendly!

What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?

Spend a few weeks curating your website before releasing it to the public. Joy offers so many tools! I encourage every couple to become really familiar with their website before guests visit it.

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?

We’re focused on celebrating forever. That means finding something to celebrate in each day of our marriage, day in and day out. We will choose each other and choose joy every day for the rest of our lives.
