Joy Proposal Story: Tiffany & Sergio

Joy Proposal Story: Tiffany & Sergio

How did the two of you meet?

We get asked this a lot, Sergi is from Spain and Tiff is from California. We studied abroad together, but due to a lot of misunderstanding, we only started to date during the last two weeks of the program. We battled three years of long distance (and a lot of sad airport goodbyes!) before finally ending up together in San Francisco.

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

We’ve always known we would eventually get married, but we were in no rush. Ironically, Sergi planned the proposal in a month. We had just booked a trip to Maui for our five-year anniversary. A coworker asked Sergi if he was planning to propose (which he was not), but then he thought it would be a great idea! On our second day, we went to Haleakala to see the sunrise and then take a hike. During the hike, Sergi first tried to ask and then got too nervous and backed off. Tiff started to get suspicious but let it go. Sergi eventually found another quiet moment during the hike and proposed.
