Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?
Tony surprised me on my birthday with a trip to The Magic Castle in Hollywood, CA. It’s a very exclusive and private club in the Hollywood Hills. Because of this, no phones or photography is allowed. When we got there I was surprised to find my sister, her boyfriend, and Tony’s cousin, Joe there to join us. We walked into the castle, got a drink, and decided to walk around. There were various rooms of magicians which is where we met our Magician, Michael, the man who would go on to help Tony propose. We stood there in this small amphitheater for about an hour then headed to the bar upstairs where Michael met us. Tony then told us that Michael had one last magic trick he wanted to show us and led us to a private area with a table and couches. He asked me to sit and choose a card from his pile, I chose a card. He then asked if I would be impressed if he guessed the card and said the right thing. I said sure when he asked, “Would you be impressed if someone else said the right thing?” I said sure again. Then, he looked at Tony. I thought Tony had the card, which would have been impressive, but Tony pulled out a ring box. It was at that time that he started speaking and I started loudly, saying, “What?! What is happening?!” Tony told me he loved me and that he knew it was time. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said, “Yes!” People were upset that we couldn’t take a picture. But, I will hold onto that memory forever.

Research! Also, compromising and making decisions with Tony.

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?
Wedding or no wedding, Tony and I are married, committed, and in love! Our wedding could turn out to be a dumpster fire. But if I’m with him and he’s there to calm me, we’ll dance on the ashes.
