Joy Proposal Story: Jordan & Tyler

by Kelsey Vickers

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

We had taken a trip with his family to Asheville, North Carolina and were visiting the Biltmore Estate. We had already toured the home and were walking down the hill towards the gardens. We were almost to the bottom of the hill when Tyler decided we needed to walk all the way to the top. I didn’t know why and kept complaining! Still, we walked back up the hill. We made it to the top, it was a large grass field over looking the Biltmore. Being from Kentucky, I took off my heels and walked barefoot to the middle of the field. My back had been turned and Tyler was following me. I felt him grab my hand and turned around to find him down on his knee. There, he proposed and I repeatedly told him, “This better not be a joke!” He then slid the ring on my finger.

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?

Getting my dress! I was so excited and I am so in love with it!

How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?

Prayer, a lot of prayer. Planning was really stressful in the beginning, but with a lot of prayer and amazing family and friends, it has become amazing!

What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?

It takes care of basically everything for the guests!

What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?

I am new to Joy, but at this point I’d say definitely use the guest list and RSVP options. I really hope this helps with getting guest to be interactive with the wedding and to RSVP on time!

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?

Even after our special day, we will remember why we were there and the joy we felt. If we remember why we are with our special person, the joy of the wedding day will last forever.
